Spartan Race founder Joe De Sena this week launched Spartan Up!, a podcast series featuring interviews with athletes, adventurers, CEOs, authors, and academics. Guests include Skirt Sports’ Nicole DeBoom, explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, and Virgin Group’s Sir Richard Branson.

At the end of each episode, De Sena and a panel of his colleagues break down what they’ve learned from the interviews as a means of unraveling the secret to each interviewee’s brand of success. For example, Ricardo Migliarese, the “Rocky of Brazilian jiujitsu,” taught panelists the “importance of delayed gratification early in life.” De Sena says he loves that Migliarese’s road to humility “started by punching someone in the face.”

Each episode lasts between 20 and 40 minutes. Eight are currently available on Spartan Race’s website and iTunes.
