Shaun White Keeps Learning How to Drive

In January, we reported on snowboarder Shaun White’s desire to learn performance driving and his subsequent partnering with BFGoodrich. After riding shotgun a few times with two-time Formula Drift champion Samuel Hubinette and RallyCar/Time Attack driver Lars Wolfe, White finally got his chance behind the wheel.

“So is this the part where I tell you I failed my first two car driving tests?” White says at the beginning of the episode above. Oh, yeah—he also doesn’t know how to drive a manual transmission.

After a few inevitable stalls, White gets the basics and hops into a 600-horsepower Viper. Nothing like diving right into the deep end.

The video is just one in series BFGoodrich will continue to post in coming months at The site also features interactive components and additional content.

With hints about what White—and some of his friends—might try in future episodes, we’ll be checking back often.
