Mmmm, SunChips. They're deliciously salty, relatively healthy, and until recently, packaged noisily. Frito-Lay discontinued their line of infamous 100% compostable bags in all except the original flavor, reports the New York Times.

So what if every time you grab a handful it sounds like a crinkling snack-package earthquake? Apparently, the "snacklash" over the packaging's decibel levels were so overwhelming that the company conceded.

Now, it's back to the drawing board or whatever you use to design less-noisy bags. The company is dedicated to making this work, Aurora Gonzalez, a Frito-Lay spokeswoman, told the Times.

“To get it to the next level will take more invention and more creativity,” Gonzalez said. “We’re actively pursuing this.”
