Woman Catches Half-ton Alligator

Outside Magazine

A 115-pound Massachusetts woman caught a half-ton, 13-and-a-half-foot alligator in South Carolina last week, the AP reports.

She and her husband were out on a permitted hunt, hoping to get at least a 10-footer. Only 1,000 permits are granted each year for the month-long alligator hunting season. The permits holders are determined by a lottery system.

Whether or not you agree with the practice or not, an 115-pound woman catching a 1,025-pound alligator is pretty astounding. We'd like to hear your thoughts on this feat and the practice itself. Sound off in our comments section below.
