Real Tiger in Checked Baggage

Aug 26, 2010
Outside Magazine

A Thai woman tried to check a two-month old tiger cub onto a flight last Sunday, the New York Times reports.

Bangkok Airport security workers found the cub when the woman's over-sized bag went through the x-ray machine. The cub was sedated and hidden among stuffed tiger toys.

The Rescue Center of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation is caring for the cub while authorities try to figure out where the cub came from.

Had the cub made it on the woman's flight, it would've landed in Iran.
