U.S. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps will compete this October in the inaugural Mission Hills Star Trophy Pro-Am golf tournament on China's Hainan Island, according to Reuters.

The tournament, scheduled for October 28-31, will feature 20 professionals, such as former world number one women's golfer Lorena Ochoa, Japan's U.S. PGA tour winner Ryuji Imada, European Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie, and former British open champion Greg Norman. Professionals in the tournament will compete for a winner-takes-all pot of $1.28 million, the largest in Asia.

Phelps, who won eight eight Olympic gold medals for swimming the last time he competed in China, will receive help with his swing from former Tiger Woods coach Hank Haney.
