Sturges Breaks Back In Chile Waterfall Run

Rush Sturges broke his back while running Bonito Falls in Chile, reports Paddling Life. Sturges and several other kayakers were on location filming for their Dream Result project (teaser below), which will include footage from Norway, Canada, Chile, China and Iceland.

Sturges sustained the injury while dropping 80 ft into the water below the falls. He then paddled a few hundred yards  (in Class III water) before leaving the water. Luckily, there doesn't seem to be any nerve damage. Read his personal account at River Roots
