Bob Barker Rescues Whaling Protest Ship

Here's an update on the collision between the protest ship Ady Gil and the Japanese whaling ship Shonan Maru off Antarctica: The crew of the Ady Gil was rescued and uninjured, thanks to the Bob Barker, a former whaling ship named after Mr. "The Price Is Right." Barker had donated $5 million to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, which thanked him by naming a vessel after him.

The Bob Barker is not going away anytime soon--after it's rescue of the Ady Gil crew, it is continuing to chase the Shonan Maru and will soon be joined by the Sea Shepherd's flagship, the Steve Irwin.

Check out Rachel Maddow's interview with the real Bob Barker, above.
