According to The Ski Blog, the Municipality of Whistler has pledged to go carbon neutral by 2010, just in time to host the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.  This will include cutting down on direct emission as well as purchasing carbon credits. Whistler plans to become the first carbon neutral community in Canada, hoping to beat the 2012 deadline outlined by the B.C. Climate Action Charter signed by 175 Canadian communities.
