Fat Tire Festival in Colorado
Question: Last year was supposed to be the "last hurrah" for Fat Tire Week in Crested Butte, Colorado, but I heard someone else was going to continue the tradition there. Is that true, and if so, what are the dates for this year? Thanks much.

Adventure Adviser:The Fat Tire Festival lives! The 16-year-old mountain bike festival, acquired by Lowrider Productions, will take place June 25-29. If you've never experienced the classic carnival atmosphere of a Fat Tire Festival, now is the time to combine world-class riding with five days of zaniness, including participation in the chainless downhill race. Though it may be wacky, the festival also offers top-level racing, rides with local guides, clinics, and, best of all, barbecue. Entry fees range from $25 to $100 depending on your age and how you choose to fill your days. Entries must be postmarked by June 18. Call Lowrider Promotions at 802-484-5737 for details. For information on Crested Butte accommodations, call 800-821-3718.
