Ideas for exploring Morocco in April
Question: I'm going to Barcelona for a work conference the first week of April. I'd like to take another week to vacation in the area (southern Spain, even Morocco). Any suggestions given the time of year?

Adventure Adviser: Morocco in April is perfect. The Euro-crowds descend on the resort town of Agadir during Christmas, February, and summer, which makes it practically deserted come spring. But if you want real bargains head to Marrakech and beyond, where you'll not only have the place to yourself, but the oppressive summer heat hasn't yet arrived.

A great deal in Marrakech is the classy Hotel Tichka ($119 per night; 011-212-4-44-87-10). The $60 per night Villa Maroc (011-212-4-47-31-47) in Essaouira is worth the two-hour drive, or head farther inland to the city of Zagora to the Hotel Riad Salam ($60 per night, 011-212-4-84-74-00).
