Well known to locals, Mind Fuck is an aptly named jump in the Whistler backcountry. Hit it with the right amount of speed, and you feel like you're going to land on the valley floor. Go too slow, and you get a brutal flat landing. 

On this day, the winds were gusting up to 60 mph—a nice touch for a photographer, not for a rider. At the top, snowboarder Benji Ritchie thought the wind had died down and yelled "dropping" over the radio. It wasn’t until he took off that he realized the wind was still howling down below. Lucky for him, he stuck the landing. As for me, the high winds and late light make all the difference in the shot.
