Exped Woodpecker - Sleeping Bags: Reviews

The Woodpecker, from Swiss company Exped, is meticulously crafted—just what you'd expect from a nation of legendary watchmakers. (Of course, its heavy-duty zipper is the only moving part.) A well-placed, down-filled chin guard keeps your face from brushing against frosty zippers. Glow-in-the-dark zipper pulls prevent late-night fumbling. Plus Exped backs up the bag's lifetime guarantee with serious attention to detail. The seams are three-ply, rather than two, and are sewn below the surface to prevent thread snags. And the bag's lofty 750-fill down kept even our coldest-sleeping tester toasty in sub-freezing temps. 20°, 2.8 lbs; outdoorresearch.com
