Simple. Light. Unbreakable. Infinitely versatile. What more could you ask for in a snowshoe? These hard-plastic classics can be extended with modular tails, so it's easy to snap on more deck for powder or remove it to save weight. The no-gimmicks plastic-strap binding is effortless (just pull and hook), which was welcome during stop-and-go's on a frigid test hike in New York's High Peaks. The pop-up heel lifter (with a helpful pull tab) kept us fresh on ascents, and a large toe cutout accommodated a wide range of footwear. These come in just one size; extra tails sold separately ($30). 2 lbs, 22'';
