T-Mobile G1 – Cell Phones: Reviews

The G1 is the first phone loaded with Google's Android operating system. And as you'd expect, it's all about integration: Android promises to bring the same level of multifunction- ality you expect from Google—search, mail, maps, documents, etc.—to multimedia mobile devices. The interface isn't quite there yet, but we've glimpsed a bright future. Click on an address in an e-mail, and Android pinpoints it on a map. The G1 also allows you to view Google documents. Plus, the slide-out keypad is the best we've tested, and the built-in compass is great, especially when you're in a strange city. 16MB, expandable; Wi-Fi, Bluetooth; tmobileg1.com
