With its subtle herringbone-like weave, square buttons, and asymmetrical front pockets, the Mohave is stylish in a low-key way. So when we saw the reasonable price tag, we figured Scott blew the budget on flair. Wrong. This insulated hard shell is brimming with smart touches, like wrist gaskets that seal out drafts and discreet belt loops that keep the powder skirt in place. The liner is comfy and wicks moisture well. You can zip off the hood. And it's got the perfect number of pockets. So what's the catch? Not much. The pit zips are a bit small and the (well-built and glove-friendly) hood isn't helmet-compatible. Fit note: Like the Stoic, it's slim-fitting but true to size.
