Saves Some for Later

Last fall, we picked Nike's amazing LunarGlide+, with its unique Dynamic Support midsole, as our Gear of the Year. Nike built the new LunarEclipse+ on the same platform but opened up the toe box, and took its stability one notch further, bracing the heel with a plastic cage that makes it increasingly supportive the more your foot overpronates. It's best as a daily trainer, as opposed to a racer—the cushioning is on the softer side—but its midsole design is ideal for runners who start off pronating only slightly but end their run needing maximum support.
