THE SELL: The name Sempre—Italian for "always"—says it all: a bike for all occasions. THE TEST: Just because you desire comfort doesn't mean you have to ride a Barcalounger. The Sempre is that rare bike that manages to blend a semi-aggressive position with a muted road feel that won't make you ache. "I felt fast on this bike without the suffering of a jarringly stiff frame," one tester noted. Everyone liked the bang for the buck of the Shimano 105 shifters and FSAGossamer brakes. One point of disagreement was the Arrowhead saddle: half of the testers found it plush; the others complained of numbing. THE VERDICT: Steady handling, great value, and bold but not obnoxious styling. What more do you want? 18.4 lbs
Handling: 4.5
Responsiveness: 4
