This summer, Robbie Maddison, a professional motocross racer and stuntman, surfed the notoriously heavy waves of Tahiti’s Teahupo’o on a motorbike. A video of the event posted Sunday on YouTube, aptly titled Pipe Dream, shows the Australian racing down 20-foot waves and across wide stretches of ocean in full dirt-biking gear.

This isn’t Maddison’s first high-profile stunt. He’s jumped his bike on top of the Arc de Triomphe in Las Vegas and across the Corinth Canal in Greece. “At the end of the day, the images and footage say something pretty awesome, but the ferocity and how gnarly that thing was can’t really be put into words,” Maddison told Surfer Magazine.
