The Outing Club has over 300 members and leads 100 excursions every year. Incredibly, the club has its own cabin in the wooded hills at the start of the Appalachian Trail's 100-mile Wilderness and an island on the New Meadows River close to campus.
Bowdoin's campus is located only 10 minutes from Maine's coast, and the Outing Club leads 12 kayaking trips around the 700 local islands to explore with some lasting up to five days.
Through the Outing Club, students can go on fall and spring road biking trips and take a comprehensive 25-hour-long course on bicycle maintenance available each semester.
