    Bascom Hall

    Bascom Hall is considered the heart of the campus and sits overlooking Bascom Hill, a site made famous by Vietnam War student protestors and current-day sun-bathers.

    The Arboretum

    The arboretum was established on farmland and pastures in the early 1930s and now features some of the oldest and most extensive restored ecosystems collections in the country.

    Student Unions

    Wisconsin boasts two unions: Union South, which features a climbing wall, bowling alley, and hotel, and Memorial Union on the shores of Lake Mendota. Memorial Union is famous for its views of the lake and sailboats and for the Rathskeller, a German pub.

    Hoofer Program

    Within the Hoofer program, UW's outdoor recreation program, students can compete in alpine, nordic, and freestyle skiing; equestrian; and sailing.

    Club Sports

    Alternatively, students can join one of the six Hoofer clubs or any of the 33 club sports teams.
