Outside chooses the top vacation spots of 2013

The hot water bubbles up from black volcanic sand on the beach at the little-known hot springs near the resort town of Ibusuki on the island of Kyushu. Take a suna-mushi, or sand bath, during which visitors lie down, get shoveled over in hot sand by an attendant, and relax.
