Burton Unveils U.S. Snowboard Team Uniforms

Burton Olympic Snowboard Uniform Professional snowboarder or indie skateboarder? We're not sure. But, it doesn't matter because we like it! The Burton uniform for the U.S. Olympic Snowboarding Team to compete in at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, that is. Can't you just picture Shaun White's lovely locks adorning the shoulders of this plaid jacket? Brilliant.

What's also brilliant is the technology infused in these two street wear-like pieces of apparel. Both the pants and jacket are made of waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex for maximum on-snow performance. We're not sure the chenille crest adds any superhero powers, but it sure looks nice.

And the Burton team riders agree. In on the design were Olympic hopefuls like Mason Aguirre, Kevin Pearce, and the latest Dancing with the Stars sensation, Louie Vito. Pirouettes and the jitterbug might not be possible in these vintage-style denim snowboard pants, but we're pretty sure double corks in the halfpipe will be. --Alicia Carr

Hopefully not sounding negative, but I don't like it at all. Just my opinion.

Good Lord. Those are horrible. But then, Olympic uniforms are often pretty gnarly, IMHO.

That's terrible! The olympics is a world stage. To be so informal and sloppy is a slap in the face. Burton certainly could have done this concept in a tasteful way. Instead they decided to represent the U.S. as a bunch of slacker rednecks. What is with the military looking patch on the chest. Our team should and will be embarassed wearing that crap.

Pretty sloppy for a gear blog. Waterproof-breathable? Really? How does that yield maximum on-snow performance? It's usually not raining at these events. I'd guess instead that they're made with one of the Gore softshell materials.

So that's where Nana put the picnic blanket. Wonder if Burton's gonna outfit the team's gear with last year's nudie boards, too. This getup is shockingly bad, but in Burton mentality, that automatically makes it "awwwwsome, dude." (sarcasm)

not very creative, I must say. too easy ... let's be a bit more forward thinking .... and take that sloppy concept and revitalize it. ARGH!

For the snowboard team, I like it. It's more fitting for the sport than some tight-fitting Bogner suit, or a cookie-cutter red white & blue Descente ensemble. It wouldnt be appropriate for the racers or skaters, but for snowboarding I think it's dead-on. Nice work, Burton!

Good article! I am really digging the US uniforms this year. A touch of old and new. This design seems kinda of against the grain and rebellious considering the usual snowboarding attire. Very American. Go USA!!

I think it looks good. fitting for the sport, what snowboarder would want a tight fitting formal jacket? The red, white, and blue colors are patriotic and i like the USA on the sleeve. The patch might be a little too much but i dont understand what you people are complaining about. Is there anyway to purchase this?

These are amazing!!! Anyone that thinks it is bad, needs to stop watching snowboarding and go buy some good clothing that doesnt have suspenders or a suit and tie. Very Casual, as snow gear should be. And i like the concept of making boarding pants out of denim on the outside. Like the jeans look. Id pay alota money for this set.
