Cape Town Surfers Try to Break Record

Yesterday, crowds at the 2009 Earthwave beach festival in Cape Town attempted to break the world record for the most people surfing on a single wave. The current record is 100 people, and was set in Brazil last year. Representatives of the festival say that they have evidence of at least 103 people successfully riding the same wave, and plan to submit the video footage to the Guinness World Record organization in London.
