Vonn Misses Sweep at Lake Louise

Lindsey Vonn, called the "Best Skier in the World" by Outside in 2008, was just .03 seconds off from sweeping the speed events at the first World Cup event of the season, reports the Los Angeles Examiner.

Vonn won downhill events at the Lake Louise course on Friday and Saturday, bringing her total at the resort to a record seven. On Sunday, Vonn went for three straight in the Super G but was beat out by Austrian Elisabeth Georgl by just three hundredths of a second.

With the wins, Vonn closed the gap on World Cup leader Maria Reisch. She now trails 309-316, according to the US Ski Team. Vonn and the team now head to Switzerland for World Cup slalom events this weekend.
