Marion Jones's Teammates Lose Gold

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has issued a preliminary ruling against the claim from Marion Jones's teammates on two U.S. women's relay teams that the IOC could not disqualify them from the Sydney Olympics, the AP reports. Those games were held eight years ago, and the runners cited an IOC rule barring the overturn of an Olympic decision more than three years after the specific games. The court rejected the claim, stating that the IOC never made a decision on stripping Jones's teammates of their gold medals once they held Jones in violation of doping rules.

Jearl Miles-Clark, MoniqueHennagan, LaTasha Colander Clark, and Andrea Anderson were Jones' teammates on the 1,600 team. Chryste Gaines, Torri Edwards, Nanceen Perry, andPassion Richardson were her teammates on the400-relay team. Perry was not part of the appeal.
