Olympian Hit by Truck While Cycling

Cracknell_Richmond_0294_565 5MB On Tuesday morning, British Olympian James Cracknell was hit by a truck in Arizona during his attempt to bike, swim, run and row across America, the Daily Mail reports.

Cracknell was 400 miles and five days into his 3,600-mile ultra race when the truck struck him just outside of Winslow, Arizona. Cracknell suffered a laceration to the back of his head and bruising to the brain but no other broken bones. He is currently in stable condition in a Phoenix hospital.

The Discovery Channel was filming Cracknell's race across America for a television special, but cameras weren't rolling when the crash happened.

Outside caught up with Cracknell the day before he started his big adventure. Read the article here.
