The Rim of Africa: SA's New Long Distance Trek

The Rim of Africa, set to open to the public in October of 2010, will be the first long distance hiking trail on the African continent. Influenced by the Appalachian trail and the Continental Divide, the trail will wind along the gorgeous landscapes of South Africa's Western coast in the Outeniqua Mountains.  The trail will be split into four segments, each taking 10-12 days, with the whole trail taking roughly 48 days.  For more information visit the official website, RimofAfrica.co.za, and register to be one of the first hikers to test it out.
