Water Fight: Swiss Vs. U.S.

A New York appeals court has upheld an order that Ras al-Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates is unqualified to be the port for yachting's America's Cup, which will be between Switzerland's Alinghi team, the defending champ, and BMW Oracle Racing of the U.S. The court cited the 19th-century Deed of Gift as the basis for its ruling, the AP reports. The Swiss were rooting for Ras al-Khaimah because they forked over $120 million to build infrastructure for their boats and crews there. The Americans, on the other hand, opposed the UAE port partly because of safety concerns over nearby Iran.

Absolute rubbish, been to Ras al khaimah several times and sailed the arabian sea hundreds of times, safety wise there's nothing to be worried about. The yanks just don't want to come in to ras al khaimah because the swiss do.
