Can Rollerblading Make a Comeback?
Rollerblade Fusion 84 GM: Rollerblading was a 1990s phenomenon that is safely in the grave—except in France. Right? Apparently, for some, the verdict is still out. This month, the company is releasing a new urban skate, and marketing it to commuters.
The wheels and frame are racing caliber. The bio-plastic molded shell is comfort oriented, but responsive enough for you to maneuver around holes, cabs, open manhole covers, and those people gawking at your commute choice. The liners have a foam shock absorber to take up road clatter, and the skates come with a brake. Somebody even put their signature on these things. Not enough to convince you to bring back the fad? The skate's shell and cuff use a mix of renewable and recycled plastics. The blades offer every technology to help you ride to work as fast as possible, so you can avoid getting on the boss's bad side. We just can't guarantee that once you arrive, your office mates won't make fun of you. Available February 2012, $229, rollerblade.com

Flag ThisInline skating will probably never return to the level it enjoyed in the 90s but it is making a bit of a comeback. My wife and I still enjoy it and we are seeing more young people taking it up. It's a great workout and fun. I'm secure enough in life that if someone wants to make fun of me or not like it, well, scroom.

Flag ThisI watched a short skate video, I remember what's like - I WANT IT! Like any sport, inline skating has enjoyed the fame with the big names up in big lights then suffered depression and weathered recessions. So what the heck is happening to this fun and quite sexy lifestyle activitiy and, how about the numerious legitimate disiplines like roller hockey, freestyle slalom, extreme skating and all? , Well, it changed and in many cases became either too restrictive, nerdy/gerdy, and or the big boys just couldnt make enough money, dropped product lines then the masses of old hard core skaters and the skate bunnies simply moved on to more exciting things to do. X-Games, Woodward, LG Games, Arlo, 976, TRS, Mark Shays, ICP, BRAVO, Salomon, K2 Mission, First Team Sports, Brian Smith, ...hell the names and the fames just fell by the wayside. So, that was the 90's, then we enjoyed a spark of interest and Asia seemed to be the place to skate or should I say, the only place that peopled skated. It's been an awesome 17 years in Asia for me personally however I share this message and am becoming mad with passion and motivated to help anyone everyone make the move to refuel our scenses and re ignite our passion for all to enjoy! Thanks to social media and a couple decades of experience we can now reach out, unite and get behind this movement so, what is the movie I watched. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_XAaR88JKs&list=UUjTTqtmR6KEcpMaoqn3VyPw&index=2&feature=plcp If this makes to get up and go skate then do it... Call some buddies, drop in on a favourite park, beach side or bowl at the skate park then finish off with some real urban skating. My finish would be a beer or three but that's your choice, ENJOY!
