Discovery Channel and Man vs. Wild star Bear Grylls have parted ways over over an unresolved contract dispute, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Grylls, 37, a former British SAS soldier, refused to participate in two unnamed initiatives for the network. Filming for season six of Man vs. Wild is already complete, although it is unclear whether footage from that season will air. "Unfortunately, Bear and Discovery have not been able to come to mutual agreement on new programming, and he disagrees with Discovery's decision to terminate current productions," said Grylls's spokeswoman Heather Krug. In recent years, Grylls has expanded his personal brand to include a line of clothing, an iPhone app, and half a dozen books. Season five of Man vs. Wild attracted an average of more than one million viewers per episode in the United States.
