Missy Franklin to Swim for High School

Sorry, everyone else

By:

Attention, female high-school swimmers in the state of Colorado: you won’t be winning much this year. Seventeen-year-old Missy Franklin, four-time gold medalist at the London Summer Olympics, will compete for Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora this season. Franklin, who signed a letter of intent with the University of California earlier this month, is expected to participate in an abbreviated schedule, similar to what she swam last year: a dual meet, a league competition, and the state finals. "She's doing this because of her team, her school and the other girls who swim in high school," John Koslosky, the school’s athletic director, said. "And she wants to. They all want her there."
