NYC Marathon Supplies Still Unused

Two days after cancellation, generators not used

By:

Remember those big generators that were supposed to be used for the New York City Marathon that never happened? As of Sunday, they were still sitting near the finish line, not being used. In addition the generators, according to the New York Post, “20 heaters, tens of thousands of Mylar ‘space’ blankets, jackets, 106 crates of apples and peanuts, at least 14 pallets of bottled water and 22 five-gallon jugs of water” were still in boxes at the finish line. Race organizers did donate 104,000 bottles of water, 35,000 shirts, 23,000 Powerbars and other supplies to those hit by Hurricane Sandy.
