Police Catch Christmas Tree Thieves

Three charged with petty larceny, reckless endangerment

By:

State police in western New York have arrested a man and two women wanted in connection with multiple Christmas tree thefts. 911 dispatchers received a call at 2:30 a.m. Sunday from a seller reporting the theft of a tree from his shop in the town of Andover. Angiline M. Palmiter, 28, and Victoria R. Greene, 36, both from nearby Wellsville, were found by police as they were attempting to escape with the tree in their vehicle and the tree seller in pursuit. At one point, the women dislodged the tree from their vehicle and attempted to throw it at the tree seller. They were pulled over and taken into custody without further incident. A third person, 27-year-old Derek J. Hodgkins, was arrested later after police learned that he was wanted along with the other two women for a separate Christmas tree theft earlier in the night. They are charged with petty larceny and reckless endangerment.
