I give this list a B+. Its good because it offers a number of suggestions that aging but adventurous folk can do without risking life and limb , or for that matter getting too far off the beaten path. For those that are a little younger and a bit fitter, and who believe that beaten paths are for beaten men, then I would suggest scuba diving remote locations. I would also suggest hiking/camping alone at remote locations. Both are exhilarating and will raise the hairs on the back of your neck.

I got the passport, and use it! I am still working on filling it up though... How about a Hot Air Balloon Ride? That's one on my list.

Definitely get a passport -- but don´t forget to explore the great city, state and national parks right around you. There are glorious experiences to be had in your own back yard. You can have international experiences there, too: just invite local friends from elsewhere to join you. Invite everyone to pack a picnic with cultural favorites, share the spoils with each other at a beautiful spot, let the conversation flow while exploring together and enjoy the world we share anew.

As said above, don't forget the glorious experiences in our own back yard in National Parks like Yellowstone, Yosemite, Rocky Mountain, Grand Tetons, Waterton/Glacier, Banff, Jasper, Yoho, Mt. Rainier, North Cascades, Olympic, Crater Lake, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Arches, Capitol Reef, Carlsbad Caverns, Mesa Verde, Sequoia/Kings Canyon, Everglades, Shenandoah, Smoky Mountains, Denali, Katmai, etc....we've got the best right here.
