My buddy and I were hiking Tuckerman Ravine, New Hampshire’s most popular backcountry ski area, on an April afternoon. About three-quarters of the way up, we were hiking up a chute when snow started sloughing down from the summit. I pulled out my camera to film it when this girl flies through the frame, sliding face-first down the hill and yelling, “Oh, my God!” She must have been going 35 mph. It’s funny, the entire day I shot 70 seconds of video, and that moment is what came of it.

Flag ThisThe girl passed my friend (tan jacket and camera just below the guy with the video) and crashed into me and two other guys who were on our way up (first cluster of people in all black). She fractured her elbow but was otherwise OK.

Flag ThisYou spent weeks looking and this is the second video on your list? Give me a half hour and I'll find something way better. First of all, that's a good video of a crash? It's mostly of people and snow getting out of the way. Yes she flies by fast but not worth my time to even watch. So poorly shot and not that spectacular. Second, I don't see one person on that hill who has even the slightest ability to be there. What are they thinking? This has convinced me to never go there for fear of being killed by some idiot going somewhere they shouldn't. I know it's a legendary place but there's got to be video of several others crashing there there that is way better. My eight year old daughter was nearly taken out by some out of control snowboarder the other night doing the exact same thing at our local hill.The fool was sliding that fast, really, head first down the run laughing just a few feet from my daughter. If I'd had a video I would have turned it, and him, in to the authorities not posted it on the web. This is like Jack Ass or some other stupid reality show glorifying people doing idiotic stuff. Come on Outside. Your a much classier organization than that.
