The Outlaw’s high-wrapping upper serves as a snow-and-debris gaiter and adds ankle stability on fast and nasty downhills. Even better, the height drops down in the back, allowing for greater movement around the Achilles. Factor in its surprisingly light weight and great traction and you’ve got our favorite foul-weather shoe, despite the somewhat stiff and slower forefoot. 10.1 oz

The world's first proper, lightweight, trail running shoe: Saucony ProGrid Outlaw! I don't know what those other 'trail running' trainers are meant to be, but without ankle support you may as well just run in a Kinvara 2, or Adidas Adios! Also, the Inov-8 Terrafly 343 GTX (343g/12.1oz in a 8UK) is pretty good, but the sole grip doesn't look as good as the Outlaw's. The Outlaws weight "11.5oz", or "13oz in a 10US" (size 9.5UK), so they weigh about the same, but Saucony are renowned for making great running shoes - with their Kinvara 2 possibly the best you can get. #BoycottNike.
