SmartWool Divide Full Zip

We're fans of partially-insulated jackets like the Divide Full Zip. Because they're insulated only in the chest—the sleeves and back are merino wool—they keep your core warm with very little bulk. But what's especially cool about the Full Zip is that the core insulation is also wool, instead of down or synthetic fill. The wool batting kept us just as warm as synthetic-stuffed jackets while cat skiing in Jackson, Wyoming. The nylon fabric on the chest panel adds a bit of wind- and water-resistance, making it a great go-fast piece for everything from running to Nordic skiing. Available Fall 2012.

Why always the judgmental BS; to be constructive, I use icebreaker wool shirts almost every day for outdoor activities and this combo looks like perfect for a midlayer snowboarding jkt. I spend around 50 days a year on my board and would love to try this jacket.

I store my tranceiver in my chest pocket, and since I'm always wearing a pack, there's no need for insulation on the backside of any tops I wear. This looks like a well designed piece to this BC skier.
