As gas prices go Euro—ditto traffic and parking—a signature across-the-pond transportation piece could end your gridlock nightmare. We're talking scooters—specifically, Yamaha's four-stroke Majesty. This freeway-legal runabout offers vaguely edgy lines, a comfortable cruising speed of 70 mph, and front fairings that keep the wind off your body and face. You won't pop any wheelies with this 400cc one-banger, though; off the start, the automatic transmission moves the Majesty with grace, not zip. Performance aside, what makes it a super rig for town hopping is the 2.14-cubic-foot storage compartment underneath the seat. It'll lock away a pair of motorcycle helmets or an overnight bag's worth of gear.
