Austrians Win Lead Climbing World Cup

Jakob Schubert takes sixth-straight title

Austrian climbers Jakob Schubert and Johanna Ernst won the 2011 Lead Climbing World Cup in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday, beating 14 of the world's top climbers in the first IFSC lead event held on U.S. soil in more than 20 years. The victory is Schubert's sixth consecutive. Ernst returned to the top of the podium after winning the overall Lead World Cup title in 2009. The next event in the series will take place on October 20 in Amman, Jordan.
