A 15-year-old high school sophomore caught a lucky break on Friday when Olympic gold-medal-winning skier Lindsay Vonn visited his school and agreed to accompany him to that night's homecoming dance. Parker McDonald was eating lunch at the Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy on Friday afternoon when Vonn walked by his table. McDonald, dateless, figured he might as well see if she was free. “I thought, ‘I need a date and there's Lindsey Vonn. I'll ask her!'” McDonald said. Vonn—27 and married—hadn't attended any high school dances as a teen and said yes. “When Parker asked me he was cute, nervous and very polite," she later wrote on Facebook. The dance, presumably, was awesome.
