Kevin Pearce to Return to Snowboarding
First time riding since 2009 accident
Snowboarder and X Games medalist Kevin Pearce will ride for the first time on Tuesday since suffering a brain injury in a 2009 accident. Pearce plans to return to Breckenridge on Tuesday with fans and fellow snowboarders Mason Aguirre and Danny Davis. The 24-year-old New Hampshire native told the New York Times he originally planned to ride in just the company of his family and close friends before reconsidering. “I want to get everybody to come and ride with me,” Pearce said in a phone interview. Pearce, who has ruled out a return to competition, sustained the head injury while attempting a double cork 1260 before the 2010 Winter Olympics.
