Bear Rides Garbage Truck into Vancouver

A young black bear became trapped in a garbage truck and rode from the outskirts of Vancouver to downtown on Monday. Police think the bear was inside a dumpster when the truck deposited the dumpster's trash into its bed. Animal control officers tranquilized the bear and released it into the upper Squamish Valley. Black bears are habitat generalists, and have been known to make their way into cities.
