Cycling Australia has admonished pro rider Chloe Hosking for calling UCI president Pat McQuaid "a dick" on Saturday in response to comments that female cyclists do not deserve a minimum salary. Hosking, who took bronze in last year's Commonwealth Games, objected to McQuaid's suggestion in September that professional women, less than half of whom are paid by their teams, did not deserve a minimum salary. In a statement on Monday, Hosking responded to criticism from Cycling Australia. "Women's cycling every year is getting stronger and stronger," she said. "It needs to get more recognition, and I'm not going to apologize for what I said, but I do apologize for how I said it." Cycling Australia says it is considering disciplinary action.
