UCI Strips French Rider of Track Gold

Bauge violated Whereabouts rule

The International Cycling Union has stripped French track cyclist Gregory Bauge and a team of French riders of their gold medals from the 2011 world championships following Bauge's violation of WADA's Whereabouts rule. France's national cycling federation retroactively suspended Bauge between December 2010 and December 2011 but chose not to revoke his world championships finish. The federation challenged UCI's authority to strip Buage without a hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
