Vuelta a España Route Announced
Mountainous course may benefit climbers
The organizers of the Vuelta a España on Wednesday released the race's 2012 route, revealing a several mountainous stages that could give an advantage to climbing specialists. The 2012 Vuelta starts in Pamplona, and will include 13 stages with high mountains, including 10 mountaintop finishes, en route to Madrid. This year is the second in a row that the peloton will travel through the Basque Country in northern Spain, following the race's return to the region last year.
