Police Search for Survivalist Murder Suspect
Believed to be hiding out in Harriman State Park
New York police are combing 43,000-acre Harriman State Park in search of a 73-year-old former park ranger and survivalist suspected of murder. Eugene Palmer is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of his daughter-in-law, which occurred early Monday morning. Palmer’s truck was found abandoned in the park with the keys in the ignition. Police followed Palmer’s scent to an abandoned campfire and have been searching the surrounding area with infrared-equipped helicopters without success. Palmer is said by authorities to be skilled in wilderness survival and may be armed.
