Lately, my runs have been feeling lethargic. I'm slow and clumsy and find myself dragging by the time I'm a mile-and-a-half in, when I should be zipping along. The culprit? My diet. No one had to diagnose this. Even with my basic knowledge of nutrition, I knew that cheeseburgers, pizza and breakfast burritos weren't helping my cause.
I recalled an article we ran in our October 2008 issue by John Bradley called Genetically Modified Foodie. Bradley went to see a nutritionist who built a diet around his personal DNA. His response: "I've been enjoying more consistent energy levels and better sleep than at any time in my adult life." Bingo. This is what I needed.
So, I turned to Laurent Bannock, the same nutritionist who saw Bradley, to see if he could remedy my situation.
