Nobis's wool-and-acrylic Lucifer Beanie ($35; nobis.ca) is stylish but understated. Extension bars on POC's Cornea Goggles ($150; www.pocsports.com) give them a better fit and a wider field of vision. SmartWool's Banff Crew Sweater ($150; smartwool.com) looks like your dad's from the seventies—in a cool way. Patagonia's track-inspired Kernelius Jacket ($150; patagonia.com) is actually a technical fleece midlayer. With a powder skirt, a fleecy lining, and a DWR coating, Patagonia's Pipe Down Jacket ($300) is perfect for cold-weather skiing. As are Oakley's insulated Arrestino Pants ($250; oakley.com). Gordini's windproof Warrior Gloves ($90; gordini.com) were some of the best of the year.

I/O Bio's merino-wool Contact Long Sleeve Zip Base Layer ($70; io-bio.com) is remarkably soft. Quiksilver's Husqie Button-Down looks like a flannel shirt, but it's cut from water-repellent polyester ($80; quiksilver.com). And because the nylon, mesh-lined Eastwood Shirt ($95), also by Quiksilver, has a DWR coating, you can wear it by itself on warm days—or around town when it's raining. The herringbone Radiant Pant, by Bonfire ($169; bonfiresnow.com), features taped seams and vents along the inner leg. The neoprene-lined Especial Glove, by Rome SDS ($80; romesnowboards.com), helps with dexterity and warmth and feels like memory foam against your fingers.
