Weighing less than a pound, K2’s new helmet might set the standard for ventilation and lightweight performance when it hits shelves this fall.
The funky looking green Route helmet comes in at 0.7lbs, making it the lightest snowsports helmet ever made, according to the company.
It also has a lot of ventilation. Fifty-nine vents dot the helmet’s surface, which should keep your head cool without sacrificing structural integrity—and safety. That added breathability is key if you plan to tackle any backcountry summits.
The extra bonus? Since the Route is safety certified for both snowsports and biking, you won’t have to swap helmets when spring rolls around.
